BDFHYK 10 Micron Inline Fuel Filter

Hard starting, hesitation, loss of power under load, or unusual fuel-pump noise can be associated with restricted fuel delivery, although similar symptoms may also come from the pump, tank pickup, regulator, injectors, wiring, or contaminated fuel. This serviceable 10 micron inline fuel filter is designed for compatible aftermarket fuel systems that match its filtration level, fuel compatibility, thread sizes, and available installation space.

10 Micron Filtration for EFI and Custom Fuel Systems

Fuel Compatibility

This EFI inline fuel filter is listed for gasoline, diesel, and E85 applications. For an E85 inline fuel filter installation, confirm that every hose, seal, fitting, pump, regulator, and injector in the complete fuel system is compatible with the intended fuel.

Filter Placement Requirements

Do not choose the installation position from the micron rating alone. Confirm whether the system requires a pre-pump or post-pump filter and follow the fuel-pump, injector, carburetor, or complete-system manufacturer's filtration requirements.

6AN, 8AN and 10AN Fuel Line Connections

Included Adapter Sizes

  • The filter body uses 10AN ports with 7/8-14 UNF threads.
  • The included 6AN adapters use 9/16-18 UNF threads.
  • The included 8AN adapters use 3/4-16 UNF threads.
  • The included 10AN adapters use 7/8-14 UNF threads.

Fuel Line Fitment Checks

When selecting a 6AN inline fuel filter or 8AN inline fuel filter setup, match the adapter thread, fuel-line size, operating pressure, required flow, and mounting space. Do not infer fuel-flow capacity from the AN size or housing diameter alone.

Serviceable Aluminum Inline Fuel Filter Construction

Washable Stainless Steel Filter Element

The aluminum inline fuel filter uses a black 50 mm T-6061 aluminum alloy housing and a removable 10 micron stainless steel filter element. The element is washable and reusable when it remains free from mesh damage, deformation, or sealing-surface wear.

O-Ring-Sealed Adapter Connections

The adapter connections use O-rings for sealing. Inspect each O-ring, thread, and sealing surface before assembly and replace damaged sealing components rather than relying on additional tightening to stop a leak.

Symptoms of a Restricted Inline Fuel Filter

Fuel Delivery Symptoms

  • Hard starting or extended cranking.
  • Hesitation, stalling, or loss of power during acceleration.
  • Reduced fuel pressure or restricted fuel flow confirmed through testing.
  • Unusual fuel-pump noise that may indicate restriction, contamination, or pump wear.
  • Visible debris in the previous filter or overdue filter service.

Related Fuel System Parts to Diagnose

A restricted filter may contribute to these symptoms, but diagnosis should also include the fuel pump, tank pickup, fuel lines, hoses, pressure regulator, injectors, relay, fuse, wiring, and fuel quality.

Inline Fuel Filter Installation Checks

Mounting Location

This configuration does not include a mounting bracket. Support the filter securely and keep it away from exhaust heat, ignition sources, moving parts, sharp edges, and areas exposed to road impact.

Pressure and Leak Inspection

Relieve fuel-system pressure before service. After installation, prime or cycle the fuel system according to the applicable procedure and inspect the housing, adapters, O-rings, fittings, and fuel lines under pressure. Correct any seepage before starting or driving the vehicle.

This is an OE-style aftermarket replacement, not a factory-branded part.
