Extended cranking, low measured fuel pressure, hesitation, intermittent stalling, or an inaccurate fuel gauge can indicate an in-tank module fault after the fuse, relay, power supply, ground, wiring, and fuel lines have been tested. This E3614M replacement module is intended for specified 2004–2005 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon gasoline trucks with the 2.8L L4 VIN 8 or 3.5L L5 VIN 6. Confirm the VIN, engine, OE number, seven-terminal connector, 3/8-inch quick-connect outlet, flange, module dimensions, pressure-sensor configuration, and float-arm geometry before ordering.

Fuel Pump Module Fitment for Colorado and Canyon

Verified coverage includes selected 2004–2005 Colorado and Canyon 2.8L and 3.5L gasoline applications. Existing product information that references E8874M or its OE numbers does not identify this E3614M module. Pressure-sensor package data also varies by catalog, so the original sensor arrangement and actual package contents must be checked before installation.

Fitment Verification

  • Confirm a 2004–2005 Colorado or Canyon with a 2.8L VIN 8 or 3.5L VIN 6 engine.
  • Match E3614M, MU1385, MU1256, P76184M, FG0359, 88965815, 88965816, or 25351390.
  • Compare the seven-terminal connector and single 3/8-inch quick-connect outlet.
  • Verify the flange, reservoir, module height, sender/float geometry, and fuel-tank pressure-sensor arrangement.

Module Functions and Service Components

  • Electric 12-volt in-tank pump supplies fuel to the engine-side delivery system.
  • Fuel-level sender, float arm, reservoir, inlet strainer, and tank gasket support pickup, sealing, and gauge reporting.
  • Sender resistance is approximately 40 ohms at empty and 254 ohms at full.
  • A wiring harness is not included. Catalogs conflict on pressure-sensor inclusion, so confirm the package and transfer the original sensor only when required and serviceable.

Symptoms and Diagnostic Checks

Measure fuel pressure before replacing the module. Test voltage and ground under load, inspect the fuse and relay, and check the seven-terminal connector, outlet, sender circuit, and tank-pressure sensor. A VIN mismatch, damaged wiring, restricted line, separate pressure-sensor fault, tank contamination, or engine-management issue can create similar symptoms.

Installation Notes

Relieve fuel-system pressure, disconnect the battery, and support the tank safely. Clean the tank and sealing surface, install the compatible gasket, keep the float arm clear, and transfer only required approved components. Prime the system, inspect the flange and outlet for leaks, measure fuel pressure, verify the pressure-sensor circuit, and confirm normal gauge operation.

My last cheapo pump lasted five years

Good price, works well so far. When installing a new tank..it is the right time to install a new pump and sending unit.

Quieter than oem

I can barely hear it turn on. It would have to be 3 o'clock in the morning to hear it clearly but not during the day. 400 miles in and so far so good. Plenty of pics attached. Oem in pic

1000 Mile update: when filling tank will say full until tank is 5/8-3/4. There's no in between. No "real" issue there

Worked great on my 2008 Gmc sierra 5.3L engine. Different by design but works and fit nice.

Pump it up

Seems like a good replacement. The wiring instructions are incorrect and caused it to not turn on. After looking up the proper diagram on line it came right on.

Same as your local auto parts dealer.

I paid about a third of what they wanted from the local supply house. Same pump. Going on my 3rd week and it's performing great. Save yourself some cash and buy it.
