Extended cranking, low measured fuel pressure, hesitation during acceleration, intermittent stalling, or an inaccurate fuel gauge can indicate an in-tank module fault after the fuse, relay, voltage supply, ground, wiring, and fuel lines have been tested. This E3781M replacement module covers specified Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Corolla, and Toyota Matrix 1.8L or 2.4L applications, but the valid year range changes by model and engine. Confirm the exact year, engine, OE number, four-terminal connector, single outlet, flange, sender calibration, module height, and float-arm geometry before ordering.

Fuel Pump Module Fitment by Model and Engine

Verified catalog coverage includes Pontiac Vibe 1.8L applications from 2005–2010 and 2.4L applications from 2009–2010; Toyota Corolla 1.8L applications from 2005–2018 and selected 2.4L applications from 2009–2010; and Toyota Matrix 1.8L applications from 2005–2013 and 2.4L applications from 2009–2013. Engine size and a broad 2005–2013 range alone are not sufficient because OE numbers and sender calibrations vary.

Fitment Verification

  • Confirm the exact Vibe, Corolla, or Matrix model year and the 1.8L or 2.4L engine.
  • Match E3781M, MU1718, F2792A, FG1640, FG0938, FG1299, SP9047M, SP9165M, or P76659M.
  • Compare the single four-terminal electrical connector and fuel outlet with the removed module.
  • Verify the flange, reservoir, module height, float-arm direction, and application-specific sender calibration.

Module Functions and Service Components

  • Electric 12-volt in-tank pump supplies fuel to the engine-side delivery system.
  • Fuel-level sending unit and float arm report tank level to the instrument cluster.
  • Reservoir and inlet strainer support fuel pickup around the pump inlet.
  • The verified module family is listed without an integrated pressure sensor; replace the tank seal with the correct application-specific seal.

Symptoms and Diagnostic Checks

Measure fuel pressure before replacing the module. Test voltage and ground at the connector under load, inspect the fuse and relay, and check the fuel line and sender circuit. Incorrect model-year coverage, the wrong engine-specific OE number, damaged wiring, a restricted line, tank contamination, or an engine-management fault can create similar symptoms.

Installation Notes

Relieve fuel-system pressure, disconnect the battery, and access or support the tank safely. Clean the tank and sealing surface, install the correct new seal, keep the float arm clear, and secure the module evenly. Prime the system, inspect the flange and outlet for leaks, measure fuel pressure, and confirm that the gauge moves through its normal range.

My last cheapo pump lasted five years

Good price, works well so far. When installing a new tank..it is the right time to install a new pump and sending unit.

Quieter than oem

I can barely hear it turn on. It would have to be 3 o'clock in the morning to hear it clearly but not during the day. 400 miles in and so far so good. Plenty of pics attached. Oem in pic

1000 Mile update: when filling tank will say full until tank is 5/8-3/4. There's no in between. No "real" issue there

Worked great on my 2008 Gmc sierra 5.3L engine. Different by design but works and fit nice.

Pump it up

Seems like a good replacement. The wiring instructions are incorrect and caused it to not turn on. After looking up the proper diagram on line it came right on.

Same as your local auto parts dealer.

I paid about a third of what they wanted from the local supply house. Same pump. Going on my 3rd week and it's performing great. Save yourself some cash and buy it.
