Extended cranking, a no-start condition, stalling, weak acceleration, low fuel pressure, or an inaccurate fuel gauge can indicate a failing in-tank module after electrical and pressure tests are completed. The BDFHYK E3943M fuel pump module is an OE-style replacement for specified 1997–2000 Chevrolet S10, GMC Sonoma, and Isuzu Hombre pickups with the 2.2L engine. Confirm the VIN code, tank, flange, connector, line ports, module depth, and OE number before installation.

E3943M Fitment for S10, Sonoma, and Hombre 2.2L

  • 1997–2000 Chevrolet S10 pickup, 2.2L L4
  • 1997–2000 GMC Sonoma pickup, 2.2L L4
  • 1997–2000 Isuzu Hombre pickup, 2.2L L4

Fitment must be confirmed from the VIN, fuel-tank configuration, removed module, and OE/interchange number. Similar vehicles can use different flanges, connectors, fuel-line arrangements, module depths, or sender layouts.

What the E3943M Assembly Does

Supplies fuel from the tank and measures fuel level through the module sender. This is an OE-style aftermarket replacement intended to restore the original tank-side function when the application and physical module match.

Fitment Verification Before Installation

  • 2.2L engine and VIN code
  • Tank and flange configuration
  • Electrical connector and fuel-line ports
  • Module height and reservoir shape
  • Float arm and sender layout
  • E3943M or listed interchange number

Diagnosis Before Replacing the Fuel Module

  • Measure fuel pressure against the vehicle service specification.
  • Check fuse, relay, power, ground, and connector voltage drop.
  • Inspect fuel lines, regulator operation, and tank contamination.
  • Separate gauge-circuit faults from pump-pressure faults.

A failed fuel pump module should be confirmed with pressure, voltage, ground, and circuit testing. Do not replace the module solely because the engine does not start or the fuel gauge is inaccurate.

Installation and Post-Installation Checks

Relieve pressure, disconnect the battery, clean the tank opening, replace the seal, prime, and verify leaks, pressure, starting, and gauge operation. Do not energize an electric fuel pump outside fuel. Follow the vehicle service procedure for tank removal, sealing, and pressure testing.

Application Summary

Referenced E3943M applications commonly specify approximately 41–47 psi; diagnose pressure using the vehicle service specification. Compare all pictured components and listed references with the removed assembly before ordering or installation.

My last cheapo pump lasted five years

Good price, works well so far. When installing a new tank..it is the right time to install a new pump and sending unit.

Quieter than oem

I can barely hear it turn on. It would have to be 3 o'clock in the morning to hear it clearly but not during the day. 400 miles in and so far so good. Plenty of pics attached. Oem in pic

1000 Mile update: when filling tank will say full until tank is 5/8-3/4. There's no in between. No "real" issue there

Pump it up

Seems like a good replacement. The wiring instructions are incorrect and caused it to not turn on. After looking up the proper diagram on line it came right on.

Same as your local auto parts dealer.

I paid about a third of what they wanted from the local supply house. Same pump. Going on my 3rd week and it's performing great. Save yourself some cash and buy it.
