Extended cranking, low measured fuel pressure, hesitation under load, intermittent stalling, pressure that drops rapidly after shutdown, or an inaccurate fuel gauge can indicate an in-tank module fault after the fuse, relay, voltage supply, ground, wiring, and fuel lines have been tested. This E3953M replacement module is intended for specified 1997–1998 Chevrolet Blazer, GMC Jimmy, and Oldsmobile Bravada 4.3L V6 applications. Confirm the four-door body, steel-tank requirement where applicable, OE number, connector count, pressure-sensor arrangement, fuel ports, flange, module height, and float-arm geometry before ordering.

Fuel Pump Module Fitment for S/T Utility Models

Verified coverage includes selected 1997 four-door Blazer and Jimmy models, selected 1998 four-door Blazer and Jimmy models with the matching steel tank, and selected 1997–1998 Bravada 4.3L applications. Two-door bodies, different tank materials, and assemblies with different electrical or pressure-sensor configurations require separate verification.

Fitment Verification

  • Confirm a specified 1997–1998 Blazer, Jimmy, or Bravada with the 4.3L V6.
  • Verify the four-door body and the matching steel fuel tank for applications that require it.
  • Match E3953M, MU1772, MU112, FG0071, P74789M, SP459M, 19177257, 25178731, or 25344814.
  • Compare the connector count, pressure-sensor arrangement, fuel ports, flange, reservoir, module height, and float arm.

Module Functions and Service Components

  • Electric in-tank pump supplies fuel to the engine-side delivery system.
  • Fuel-level sender and float arm report tank level to the instrument cluster.
  • Catalog data lists approximately 40 ohms at empty and 250 ohms at full for the matching sender.
  • A tank seal and service wiring harness are listed with common configurations; pressure-sensor and connector listings conflict, so the actual module and package must be matched.

Symptoms and Diagnostic Checks

Measure running and residual fuel pressure before replacing the module. Test voltage and ground under load, inspect the fuse and relay, and check the wiring, fuel lines, sender circuit, regulator/check-valve behavior, and tank-pressure sensor when equipped. A body- or tank-style mismatch, restricted filter or line, injector leak, wiring fault, tank contamination, or engine-management problem can create similar symptoms.

Installation Notes

Relieve fuel-system pressure, disconnect the battery, and support the tank safely. Clean the tank and sealing surface, install the correct new seal, complete any approved connector or harness service, and keep the float arm clear. Prime the system, inspect the flange and lines for leaks, measure running and residual pressure, scan the pressure-sensor circuit when present, and confirm normal gauge operation.

My last cheapo pump lasted five years

Good price, works well so far. When installing a new tank..it is the right time to install a new pump and sending unit.

Quieter than oem

I can barely hear it turn on. It would have to be 3 o'clock in the morning to hear it clearly but not during the day. 400 miles in and so far so good. Plenty of pics attached. Oem in pic

1000 Mile update: when filling tank will say full until tank is 5/8-3/4. There's no in between. No "real" issue there

Worked great on my 2008 Gmc sierra 5.3L engine. Different by design but works and fit nice.

Pump it up

Seems like a good replacement. The wiring instructions are incorrect and caused it to not turn on. After looking up the proper diagram on line it came right on.

Same as your local auto parts dealer.

I paid about a third of what they wanted from the local supply house. Same pump. Going on my 3rd week and it's performing great. Save yourself some cash and buy it.
